Joey Clothing was born from a deeply personal postpartum experience and a simple belief: fashion should make women feel confident and comfortable, always. With no family business background, founder Rashmi Wijekoon took a bold leap, leaving a promising corporate career to pursue a passion project born at home. She designed the clothing she herself needed: breathable, flattering pieces that supported her body through change. 

Starting with small production runs, garden photoshoots, and close collaboration with local artisans, Joey grew through purpose and persistence. Today, rooted in Sri Lanka’s vibrant culture and inspired by global fashion, Joey celebrates real women, real bodies, and real lives; delivering not just clothing, but a daily boost of happiness, confidence, and joy. 

Our design philosophy is simple:fit, comfort, and versatility. Every piece is thoughtfully crafted with attention to every detail;from pattern design and fabric selection to prints and finishes. We ensure that each creation is distinctive, wearable, and timeless, so fashion never feels like a compromiseor a “me too.” At Joey, style and comfort go hand in hand, empowering women to feel confident in every moment.

At the heart of Joey’s value chain is a community-based stitching model rooted in empathy and empowerment. Born from the founder’s postpartum journey, Joey was designed to support women balancing motherhood and work. Over 75% of our production is carried out by women stitching from the comfort of their own homes, creating sustainable livelihoods without compromising family life. This modeldoesn’tjust produce garments,it builds confidence, independence, and long-term economic resilience for women across communities.

At Joey Clothing, our team is young, dynamic, and full of energy; mostly Gen Z talent stepping into flexible, early-stage careers. From designers and pattern makers to customer experience specialists, each team member brings creativity, fresh ideas, and a willingness to experiment.
